US: Initial Jobless Claims fell to 340K
According to the Labour Department, the Americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits fell by 7K last week to a seasonally adjusted 340K in the week ended March 3, exceeding expectations at 355K and coming from 347K (revised) in the previous print.
Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, rose by 3K to a seasonally adjusted 3.094 million in the week ended February 24 vs. 3.0.91 million in the previous week (revised).
